Darien Physical Therapy has been using Systems4PT since December 2004. Prior to that we documented by hand and had outsourced billing. Overall, I can tell you that the system has delivered what the company said it would.

Since using Systems4PT our front desk is much less cluttered, as we no longer use charts. The front desk staff is also much more efficient and effective. Filing is now non-existent. The front desk staff spends their time acting on compliance and payor visit issues proactively vs. reacting after we get surprised. Our compliance is much higher using Systems4PT compared with before.

We have one location and eight therapists. Training went well, surprisingly well as some of our staff did not have much experience with computers. Our documentation efficiencies have improved. Using Systems4PT our notes are signed more quickly compared to when we documented by hand. And progress note, discharge note compliance are much tighter.

We have been very pleased with collections using Systems4PT. We had previously outsourced billing. The training was very good. Using Systems4PT we collect more per claim than our billing service collected, and in a shorter amount of time. We treat roughly 2,000 patients per month. My Office Manager handles our billing and collections as well as numerous front desk and Management tasks. The system is extremely efficient.

Three months after we installed the system I asked my accountant to audit expenses and collections. His findings were that treatments were slightly up, expenses were down, (we were no longer paying for the billing service), collections per claim were higher and payments were coming in faster. My accountant told me that after three months using Systems4PT we had saved enough money to pay for the system! He called me a genius. I will say, the system is not automatic. You have to follow the billing procedures, as trained. But if you do, collections will be strong.

Responsiveness has been very good. Systems4PT has responded to a number of our ideas, others are still pending. I like the company’s orientation toward constant improvement. They reacted ahead of time when it came to Medicare changes, such as the cap in 2006. When system issues or hardware issues have come up, support has been very good and our treatment flow has never been interrupted. I like that the help desk answers the phone with real people and that they have billing experts on the help desk.

Systems4PT was good for Darien Physical Therapy day one, and has only gotten better since then. The system has let me focus on my practice, because I know that Systems4PT is focusing on upcoming industry changes and further system innovation. I recommend Systems4PT for your practice.
